How to know if this is the right blog for you?

I can tell you right now, this blog isn’t going to be right for everyone. I fully expect that what I write is going to piss people off, plus there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to one’s healing journey. Some people need things I can’t provide, and honestly have no right to offer to them. I’m no expert, but I am pretty advanced in my development. That doesn’t mean that everyone is going to benefit from what I have to say. Some will plain old not be ready to hear what I have to say. And that’s okay.

I can hear some of you saying already, “Who the hell do you think you are?” This is a question that I expect to come up often as the blog progresses, especially if people judge me by my past selves or by my appearance. I don’t look like what I’ve been through, and soon my external life won’t either. It’s natural for people to be suspicious of my possessing relevant experience. So, let me tell you a little bit about who I am. You may also want to look through my ABOUT page.

What gives me the right

I am a Gen X, neurodivergent woman who isn’t asking anyone to do anything that she hasn’t already done herself. I have endured the pain of multiple metamorphoses throughout my life. I’ve had to watch several versions of the old me crumble down around me and then rebuild in her ruins.

I’m an eldest daughter/child, a Leo, I’ve moved around 35 times in my life, worked over 30 jobs (including temporary placements), and I’ve never broken a bone, but my heart has been shattered more times than I can count. Fortunately, I’ve been spared the agony of chronic physical illness and pain, but my mind has battled a lifetime of depression, anxiety, and the suffering that comes from not finding out about my ADHD, etc. till my forties.

I’ve survived multiple periods of unemployment (the longest was 18 months), bankruptcy, divorce (both mine and my parents’), a miscarriage, two full-term pregnancies/births, nursing, two audits, being a single parent, a lifetime of financial struggle, and I grew up in a household full of various neurodivergences that were very loud and volatile, but went unrecognized.

My existence as a girl, and then a woman, in a patriarchy means I’ve been subjected to all the crap that comes with it.

Was it worth it?

I have battled through all of it, learned countless lessons the hard way, and emerged on the other side, not only intact, but enough. I am finally living the full expression of my true self without feeling the need to apologize for who I am. My peace is fiercely protected, and I carry within me the infinity of gratitude, to the point where my mere existence seems to trigger people. That’s how I know I’m on the right path.

I know many people have had it so much worse than I have. I don’t pretend to comprehend what they’ve been through. The fact that I’m white, cis, and straight has afforded me a certain level of privilege, including the privilege of ignorance and being given the benefit of the doubt. Still, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve been through enough and am living the kind of existence that maybe we are all called to live, so I now want to share with the world the knowledge I’ve acquired over decades.

I’m not right for everyone.

I expect to get corrected and educated along the way. In fact, I look forward to it. I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I have enough to help people get started on the journey to a life less confined and to help them overcome certain obstacles along the way.

If that sounds like something you’re open to, then maybe this is the right blog for you, so welcome!
